I've only had it for 2 days. I tested it on Sunday to see how it would work. Unfortunately I set my alarm clock for 8am in the morning when the sun is shining brightly and did not use the aromatherapy because it is very strong. The minute I opened the box it was all you could smell ... so I tossed them and will be replacing it with Bath & Body Works Tranquil Mint Oil. So Sunday was not a good day because the Sun was brighter than the light.
But Monday I wake up at 5:30am ... and sure enough around 5:15 I noticed the room growing brighter which caused me to awake pleasantly. It is definitely like the sun rising. I actually thought I had slept through my alarm until I turned and looked out my window to discover it was still dark out. Then the birds started chirping (nature sounds) and they mixed in with the natural birds.
Since I went to bed after 12 and I'm baby sitting my sister's cat ... who kept meowing and crying around 3am ... I decided to hit the snooze button just to get some extra sleep. Then sure enough on cue at 5:30am the buzzer sound went off ... lol.
This is definitely a wonderful clock ... and I'm definitely anticipating the wonderful peaceful progression called waking up :)

Shipping was prompt and efficient. The clock itself works exactly as described. I usually wake up to gentle light and birds chirping. But I don't actually get out of bed until the alarm goes off. The sound track does repeat frequently... so the rainstorm has whole lotta thunder in it. The babbling brook sounds more like water running. I love the waves crashing and the crickets (except when I have headache). I personally didn't care for the aromatherapy beads that were included, so I bought my own. The aromatherapy portion does work, so it's a nice touch. Overall, very happy with the product.

I like this clock and I'm glad I got it, but for what it is, it's too pricey. The construction isn't all that impressive as the clock itself seems kind of flimsy. That said, the features are quite nice and the quality of the "white noise" sounds is good. I wish they'd picked different choices for the sounds, but they're not bad. Despite looking complex, it's fairly easy to operate.

I received this clock as a gift, as I asked. I had been waking up groggy and cranky during Chicago winters for way too long. I decided this clock may help me wake up in a better mood than the typical alarm clock with just noise as an alarm.
I've been waking up with this alarm clock now for two weeks and have yet to be disappointed. I have not been this happy waking up in a very long time. Even when my sleep is disturbed in the middle of the night, I still feel happy and refreshed in the morning with the light and bird sounds waking me while it's still dark out.
I will admit it took me a little bit to program the clock and fully understand everything, but I've been spoiled with intuitive alarms (and every other electronic device). Being someone who wakes early and prefers to wake with sunlight, this alarm clock is the next best thing! I highly suggest this alarm clock for anyone who has the same needs.
Also, as annoying at the actual alarm sounds, I have yet to actually have to wake up to it. This alarm clock is definitely the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten!
Final thought: the aromatherapy that comes with it is hit or miss, for me. There is one that smells like pine, and one like lavender, and these two smells are quite pleasant for me. However, the other two smells... coffee (if that's what it's supposed to be) and who-knows-what, are not the greatest smells.

I bought this clock because I was having such a hard time getting up in the winter in the dark. This clock has helped tremendously with that. Sometimes it's actually confusing...laying there thinking "wow, it's a beautiful sunny morning" then opening my eyes & realizing it's still dark outside!
I, too, did not like the aroma beads (hence the 4 stars). They are synthetic & I wondered exactly what it might be that I would be breathing in, so I threw those away. The clock settings take a moment to figure out but really were quite intuitive once I realized one side was for dimming & the other for waking.
I don't like the buzzing sound of the alarm but it's just what I need sometimes and if I don't want to hear it, it's simple to just reach over & push the button before it goes off. The nature sounds seem fine; I've only used the birds & those do blend in well with the live birds outside some mornings! Also, as one reviewer stated, it does tend to slide when you push the snooze button but I've solved that by simply placing a small square of non-slip material under it (the kind that acts as a jar opener) & that solved the problem.
Planning on getting another one for my son who will be starting Middle School & so will have to start getting up a LOT earlier. Hope it helps him as it has helped me. So, although it's a little pricey, compared to the other models out there, I think it's a nice, middle-of-the-road option.
